$16.66 per month to play GW... very very clever

Does nobody read anything anymore? Seriously...this is on the official website...right next to all the preorder information. Just settle down, March 7 is tomorrow...give it a day or two.

Well I used the search button, and that didnt really come up with anything. But Would I be able to get a "collectors edition preorder pack" Or Will I have to preorder the game and then later buy the collectors edition and add that key to my preorder account. If I have the key and have to buy the collectors separate, wouldnt that make it a lot more expensive ? (I'm from Australia, so I will be buying it online either from amazon or direct from areananet)

okay i just called amazon agian and they said in order to have the preorder package with this order you need to refresh the order by cancelling the old order and placing a new one to get the new presale disc (pre order package) it looks like its 2 dollars for the preorder package but if you get it now it comes with it for free.

Inde asked that I stop by, but I'm not even sure what questions there are. So much is explained in the Preorder Pages for America and Europe that I'm not sure what to say. Except maybe consult the Factions FAQ, too. Perhaps a quick bullet list will help:- Guild Wars Factions Preorder has shipped for NA.
- Factions preorder on shelves around March 7th. Gee, that's tomorrow.
- Online orders possible as of March 3rd for Europe, but you'll not get a box.
- I do not know of online order options for NA. As far as I know, you need to obtain the boxed copy in NA.
- Boxed preorder packages in Europe end of month. (I don't want to say March 31st and get caught in that same shipped date/shelf date mixup, so let's just say "around March 31st.")
- You need to preorder to get the items -- either online through the official European preorder or via a boxed copy in NA.
- Simply putting in a preorder does not equal getting the preorder package. Most companies do not send out the preorder package, you need to get it at the store. Consult your local retailer or your favourite online retailer to learn their policies.
- If you preordered from a store before the package was available, please speak to the store. We cannot provide you copies of the preorder. Most are more than happy to give you a copy if they have you on file as having placed a deposit (preorder) earlier.
- If you're an existing customer of Guild Wars and have an active GW account, you can attend the Factions Preview Event without any extra steops on your part.
- If you purchase the preorder you will receive (in NA, anyway) a key to access the FPE, and a friend's Key to access the FPE as well.
- You will get the preorder item when the game ships.
- If you think you have the preorder items for the Ritualist and the Assassin, please provide a screenshot in this thread, and please have your inventory open and the stats screen showing. Thanks.
I hope this is helpful information, and if you can specify other questions related to the preorder, I'll try to answer them.

This is a very concerning line that I have not seen mentioned or spoken of anywhere.
"Most companies do not send out the preorder package, you need to get it at the store. Consult your local retailer or your favourite online retailer to learn their policies."
So how do we get a pre-order box? Why are there links to amazon.com, ebgames.com, gamespot.com and other online retailers that we are pre-ordering from? I haven't seen any information stating that we have to physically go to a store to pick up a box.

No worries Gaile. Inde, I think what Gaile means is that you have to go to the store to get the pre order box, which comes with all the extras but not the actual factions game, they send that out to you or you pick it up when the game comes out.

Well, Amazon.com doesn't have a store that I can go to and pick that up at jmj102. And now there's talk that any pre-orders that have been made at amazon.com have to be cancelled and we must reorder it along with a pre-sale disc in order to receive those items.
I'm just now wondering if all retailers have been "reserving" games for their customers and not "ordering" these customers the pre-sale disc. It seems the majority of stores are not aware of what's going on. Once the pre-order boxes come in it should be interesting to see how everything get's sorted out.

If you are willing to pay the postage, I imagine they will send out the preorder package. But some folks are under the assumption that one shipping charge gets them two shipments, the preorder package and the release version of the game. That is sometimes not the case. In a few cases, a deposit was applied without giving a preorder package. In a few cases, the stores said, "We'll send you the preorder package when your retail version of the game ships." (Yikes, that's bad! Access to all the BWEs or the FPE would be lost if that happened!)
I don't mean to say that stores will not send out the preorder package. But I wouldn't say "I want to preorder" and put money down until I understood fully that (1) the money was to be applied to the retail version of the game, and (2) that the company would be shipping (a) preorder now and (b) retail version on release day (or before, we make it possible to ship before so it is in hand the day the servers are opened.) Of course, using a local retailer makes it easy, you put down your money and walk out with the preorder package. Still, not all can use a brick-and-mortar store and online purchases are increasing every year and as long as you communicate your expectations about preorder package shipment and so forth, all is well.
How sad to preorder and get the preorder package after the Early Access period. Ask questions now and you'll be fine!

You're right, it will be interesting to see how it works out, Inde. I think that we'll see a bit of confusion as store personnel become familiar with expectations, but I do believe all will be well, and those who seek it will get the preorder package. It may take a little explanation and a bit of effort, but I do see that happening.

Here's a slightly confusing situation that might imply that the preorder item existence is a bug...
New RP character
Current RP character
After pressing enter
I've emailed the situation to support but no response yet Hopefully it's just a bug.
Also, the preorder staff only gives +5 energy. If it is +15 energy, should we not get this? thanks.
